As of January 21, 2021, Aksa Energy Company Congo, a 100% subsidiary of Aksa Energy, has signed a concession agreement with the Republic of Congo regarding 30 year operating right of 50 MW natural gas power plant located in Pointe-Noire. Under the agreement, 50 MW installed capacity of the power plant will be expanded to 100 MW with additional investment by Aksa Energy Company Congo.
Natural gas is planned to be supplied from Congo’s domestic natural gas reserves. The electricity generated is planned to be exported to the Democratic Republic of Congo over the existing transmission lines.
